Wrong Time to Graduate College
Hello Blog World,
My name is Voiceofadiva and I have a few words to type about my journey to adulthood. Some of you all may be able to relate to my story . So why did I have to graduate college (May 2008) during a time when the stock market is crashing, employers are laying off, and nobody is hiring. I guess I was just in a dream world. I thought I would graduate college and in few months find a job that I love doing, working in news. This really sucks. I have applied to jobs almost everywhere and doing about anything in journalism. There aren’t too many opportunities in my state and managers don’t want to take a risk on someone 20 hours away. I don’t want to be like everybody else and go into another field of work. I want to be a broadcast journalist, I am a broadcast journalist! This is what I do, its what I know. I LOVE NEWS and to talk about it!! So why should I have to reevaluate my dreams because Uncle Sam can’t get it together. All I need is that one opportunity to advance in my field, but everybody is saying you need more experience. More experience??? How in the heck can I get more experience if you won’t give me the opportunity to grow. I’ve completed two internships, worked at my school news station and I am still in a slump. Is it just bad timing or is it just me??
